Adrift by Will Dean - A DNF
I don't DNF books often. But this one? I just couldn't take it.
I read The Last One and was absolutely captivated. Loved the story, loved the twists. So when I heard other book lovers gushing about Will Dean's newest book, I rushed to the library to pick up a copy.
On the surface it sounds good. Two aspiring writers living on a houseboat in an isolated area and the success of one of them sets catastrophic events into play. Called a slow burn.
Slow burn? Excuse me. There was no burn, slow or otherwise. It was just slow. Painfully slow and painfully boring. I wasn't invested in the story at all. Nothing like The Last One. I called it less than 100 pages in. Just wasn't worth it to me.
The only good thing I can say is that I didn't buy the book and only borrowed it.
Do not recommend.
Disclosure: I borrowed this book from my local library. My views and opinions are my own. I was neither paid nor compensated for this review.
